Storytelling for Change
This project brings together the voices of eleven racialized immigrant women navigating the Canadian labour market. Through storytelling workshops led by journalist and activist Shanga Karim, participants shared powerful reflections on work, struggle, and survival.
Their stories were visually interpreted by artist, photographer and curator Natalia Botero, with multimedia design by graphic designer Alejandra Villanueva. The result is a moving collection that speaks to both the challenges and strength of immigrant women workers.
These personal narratives highlight the urgent need for culturally safe, trauma-informed systems of support—and call for action to advance workplace justice.
